Grilles
These architectural grilles were designed as original works, tailored to the scale, function, and character of each project. Whether used for privacy, ventilation, or visual framing, each piece is fabricated using traditional techniques and material processes. The focus is on clean proportion, forged detail, and contextual integration — aligning the grille with both the architectural language and performance needs of the space.
This portfolio includes work executed independently and in collaboration with other firms, where I played a direct role in fabrication, design, or preservation.
Scrollwork Grille
A hand-forged grille inspired by Louis XIV-era French ironwork. Executed using traditional joinery and repoussé detailing, the piece explores layered volutes and tapering scrolls without the use of welding — emphasizing form, rhythm, and material discipline.
Bronze Grille
Fabricated in architectural bronze, this grille draws from the ornamental style of Philip Simmons. Featuring a stylized crane and flowing scrollwork, it blends Lowcountry design language with traditional forging techniques.
Window Grilles
Forged in mild steel with hand-shaped scrollwork and a central quatrefoil motif. Designed to complement traditional architecture using durable, mechanically joined construction.
